I wish DC would have pushed Vixen instead of Bendis's pet creation. I mean -- Namoi ain't exactly an inspired title for a superhero show. I don't know what Naomi can do, but animal powers are pretty easy to comprehend.
with all due respect, but can comic fans have some dignity and move on from this tired "i wish DC would push x character of color over x newer character of color that has nothing to do with them" nonsense? simply put it's just a trite shallow take that a) let's DC off hook for how little characters of color exist in circulation that get ANY real attention or development at any given time, and b) it's a dogwhistle in favor of tokenism because it acts like more than one or two non-white characters can't be allowed to exist and be promoted at the same time for whatever reason. not to mention it's an annoying, super unoriginal, and persistently regurgitated "opinion".

Cross and I love Vixen.
I have a pitch for an ongoing for her.
Vixen is a Wonder Woman/Superman level Tank.
She is a character who actually enjoys using her powers.
She has a deep and long-term history in the DCU.
We were about setting up a clear and distinct mythology for her which would have led to a broad set of rogues and allies.
not enough folks bought Truth & Justice.
We both still want to do it. Cross's designs for the new Global Guardians and for future versions of Mari are fire AF.
But not enough folks bought Truth & Justice.
I appreciate your argument. Namoi being black may have had nothing to do with her getting a TV show; it was probably due to BMD pushing her. But that is also my argument against her -- and that she's an unknown quality. Still, I think Vixen would be a better choice -- as would Black Canary, Zatanna, Donna Troy or countless other DC heroines.
Vixen has appeared prior in the CW-verse. So maybe from their perspective they've ticked the character off the checklist and it was time to push a new character.
