Rest in peace.
Rest in peace.
RIP George Perez. One of the greatest comic artists of all time.
George Perez means something special to me; his work on Wonder Woman was the first comic book I ever read. And then that led to his TT stuff, reading the back issues of COIE, and then to discover his Avengers. His work was sublime, getting to the emotions of a scene as well as simply telling the story. Along with Neal Adams, this has been a bad week or so with respect to two of the real comic book heroes. RIP Mr. Perez, and thanks for all the memories.
George Perez was one of my favorite artists. I loved his work on Wonder Woman, New Teen Titans, Avengers and JLA. He made all those books into classic masterpieces. Rest in peace.
R.I.P. George Perez. You left a huge mark on my comic book enjoyment and it was my pleasure to meet you in person.
R.I.P to a genuine legend.
He lived a full life. Created many memorable stories and characters. Had a great relationship with his fans. Even in his death, he got to know ahead of him that his final hours were near, just long enough to give us a heads up so we could say goodbye, got time to put his house in order, show the world the kindness and generosity that he was famous for before quietly slipping away into the night. Truly a life that was well lived.

George Perez (RIP)
I met him at a con when I was maybe 16. He was just walking around and I, being young and thoughtless, approached him and just started talking. It wasn't my intention to be rude, but I was just a dumb kid with no real idea of what was inappropriate. The point of the story is that, while he had every right to be annoyed, he was so kind and gracious. Just totally friendly and patient with this young fan. I always remembered that about him. It's a little thing, but then you hear how many other fans met him and say the same thing about what a kind person he was to them and you realize how cool of a guy he was.
Obviously he was a brilliant artist as well, but I just wanted to say something to honor what a good-hearted person he was. I think that's really important.
With all due respect to Neal Adams, George Peréz was the best artist of my generation…and I am 68.
A life cut off way too short.
Perez took the comics industry by storm, and left an indelible mark on it. He was one of the greats of the Bronze Age who continued to be relevant far after that era ended. He did incredible work on DC's New Teen Titans and Wonder Woman, but I think it's his runs on Marvel's Avengers that I cherish the most.

Thank you for all the joy, Mr. Perez. R.I.P.
