That's right, he was killed in the start of Civil War II in the same incident that landed She-Hulk in a coma. They were clearing the decks so that Riri and Doom could take over the Iron Man books. Tony was also supposedly killed at the end of that event, but had made preparations, essentially cloning himself. After returning near the end of Bendis's run, he then used the same tech on Rhodey.

In fairness, Rhodey is probably the only friend of his for whom Stark has extensive scans because he routinely wears Stark armor. By the time he Frankenstiened Rhodey back to life, he probably had a total map of not only every shred of his DNA, but of his brain's shape on the cellular level created by learning.

That's a great point. I remember when the armor was messing with Rhodey's mind and Tony had to set it to Rhodey's specfics.

I collected the Iron Doom series back when it was running

Conceptually interesting and some good art but Bendis really wasted it with slow-ass pacing, barely any shit happened
