    Default The X-Men as Animals

Okay, okay, okay. I know this is weird, but hear me out on this one. No wait, seriously, don't leave the thread just yet.

As many of you know, I have an amazing puppy. But my dog's personality reminded me of a certain X-character. They had the same vibe. So I thought, "let's list some X-Men, and animals that have a similar vibe to them," or "Here are some extremely generic and basic character traits that can apply to most characters, but I think they apply to these characters specifically because they have a similar vibe to that animal." Here are some I noticed.

    Iceman & Huskies
    • Both are heavily associated with snow and ice
    • Both are known for being friendly and very vocal
    • Despite their friendly dispositions, they're strong and formidable foes
    • Can be even more vocal when they want attention
    • Very fun
    • I know about the original dragon idea with Bobby, but consider this: I Googled "Drake husky" and found a husky with that name. I also found someone's dog fursona.

    Wolverine & Black Cats
    This one's pretty obvious, but
    • Sharp claws
    • Can be very vicious
    • Often depicted as outsiders, bad luck, and tragic
    • Natural-born hunters, even if they choose not to
    • Known for being very independent
    • Despite that, they'll open up to those they can truly trust and love
    • Are quicker to move on from a group or location
    • Hellion likes them

    Hellion & Shiba Inus
    • Purebred and prestigious
    • Stubborn and rebellious
    • But also very intelligent
    • Easy to teach, hard to control
    • Affectionate to those they're close with, look down on everyone else
    • Will demand attention
    • Rude and outspoken
    • Long streaks of aggression
    • Will immediately try to assert dominance over its peers the moment they walk into a room
    • Needs constant supervision

    Kid Omega & Galahs
    • Pink
    • Mohawks

You guys do this too, so I don't feel like a loser.

It's funny, despite her association with Wolverine, Laura has always come across to me as being very cat-like in both her personality and movements (like that bit where she's perched on the chair in Hellion's room after he saved her from Nimrod way back in NXM. There's just something about it that's very "cat").

    That black cat is everything.

Sly, sexy, quiet when necessary, mischievous, pretty.

Wouldn't Wolverine be... well a wolverine?
It's right in the name and he was heavily based on the animal in terms of personality.

EDIT: Nevermind, reacted too quickly, that was about X-23, so cat does match.

Also i propose Psylocke matches a harrier.

    Ah, let's see:

Beast (Hank McCoy): Ape, Lion, Cat. Yeah, Hank's a Beast.

Phoenix (Jean Grey): PHOENIX! Red hair, returns from the dead, awesome powerful.

Trying to come up with something for Wolfsbane and Silver Fox, but I’m drawing a blank.

Rahne's easy: doves. Aside from the religious connotations, they represent hope, love, and he human spirit. They can also represent freedom, reflecting her breaking away from the shame and abuse that once ruled her life.

The part with Hellion reminds me to an X-men Unlimited story where Marrow was sitting on a table while looking at Kitty Pryde sleeping. For added measure she threw a rat at her, claiming Kitty could put on some weight.

Does that qualify her for a stray feral cat of uncertain heritage?

In another world they might actualy make for odd couple style besties.

When I think of Jubilee I often think of her early days when she was leaping and bounding around. She reminds me of a squirrel - fast, acrobatic, social, feisty, funny. The way she was hiding from the Outback team reminds me of how squirrels hide behind trees and look at you, almost daring you to catch them. And they throw out explosive energy plasmoids too.

Moonstar -- mountain lioness, like her late friend, Ridgerunner. Plain at first glance, but sleek, fierce and deadly.

He'd be the legendary historic cocane bear. Strongest predator to ever exist before it od due to eating 75 pounds of cocane.

This explains the fire damage to my kid’s treehouse.
