This is absolutely gutting. Mr. Giffen was one of my very favorite comic book creatives---one of the very best ever. It was on the Giffen League books that I got into comics. His sense of humor was so very refreshing and unique to me; I always read his books first. He made my life a little bit brighter.

He was also an underrated artist.
He had a real gritty style. I remember he worked on the last few issues of DC’s HEX series, and did one of the most badass Jonah’s I’ve ever seen.

Sad news. Loved his stuff. Bought the first JLI and Legion 5YL omnibuses, despite owning the original issues.
He took chances, and love it or hate it, you have to appreciate he was satisfied to sit on his laurels.
It would be nice if DC took this sad opportunity to get some of his 80's Legion and Dr Fate work back in to print.

I suppose one could argue, but it would be a tough case to prove anybody ever took The Legion to the heights it enjoyed under Giffen. Peace be upon him and his.

Without Keith Giffen, I probably wouldn't have become a comic book fan from age ten through my 20's.

For better or worse, he had a sense of humor. He made the JLI work. . . . . but also created Ambush Bug.

By far KG's best work was LoSH, Justice League and Lobo. RIP, my man.
