T'Challa: The Black Panther Appreciation 2024

If Storm is such a critical part of the BP franchise, why have almost all her appearances since at least 2021 been in the X-office?

Why was she allowed to be an absolute monarch of a PLANET but T'Challa had to be deposed?


Now, in all fairness, Ultimate Storm is a different character. But having her showing up to save Ult'challa feels a lot like business as usual.

Interesting enough a LOT of folks have asked that not just with her but other mutants who are doing little of nothing in X-books and are not appearing anywhere else.

If she is that big why is she not in other books? X-Office won't let them.

She is NOT Wakandan. She has no claim. Marriage annulled.

As big as T'Challa's family is there are too many relative who should have a stake in that throne.

And how can she be on a Throne that doesn't exist thanks to Coates.

And even if we got that book-how many issues would it last? 6 and axed at issue 2?

I'm still trying to parse that dialogue. There seems to be a disconnect between "No weapon would be suitable" and "Today, you starve".

Also, we've achieved Iron Panther, apparently.

The Kingdom mech was nice but perhaps better saved for later. I feel 6160!Tchalla needs a 1v1 fight with a Knight or Elite on the Moon Knights side. I am not enthused with Storm's inclusion so for now I'm treating it as a "we're walking, we're walking moment"

I'll say if the upcoming covers do turn out that Shuri will stage a takeover backed by the Dora's hopefully will assuage some issues with Shuri.

At least framing her as a decent techie but she's easily manipulated and ultimately becomes a patsy for the machinations of the Dora's would actually serve to make her a flawed character and thus interesting.

It would make a contrast to BP trying to make sense of the Vodu-Khan's bullshit while Shuri winds up being a sucker.

Shuri has always been a flawed character. That’s not the issue. That’s like Coates and Coogler conflating incompetence with interesting. The issue is that T’challa historically uses gadgets he builds but now has to delegate them to her because of synergy. Like I said earlier since t’challa and Shuri are gonna be opposed. He Can delve into t’challa’s intelligence without it feeling like "oh yeah he’s smart too…moving on"

You can ask why bast allowed X to happen with a lot of things. Solicits say BP may be a double agent and allowed himself to be intentionally turned. My interest is piqued
