While Aaron’s never been shy of weirding thr hatchet (see what he did to Coulson); the Past BP being murked (and the complete exclusion of any Panthers from the other legacies in the time travel arc) does more or less match up with Ridley turbo commuting to treating T’Challa as the unholy Habsburg jawed lovechild of 2000’s Batdick and Charles I/Louise XVI/Nicholas II so I get the impression Aaron had at least some of his Black Panther plans yoinked out from under him.

Conversely, I got the impression McKay pulled rank on Ridley re where T’Challa ended up by putting on his Avengers roster (the one seemingly charged with digesting Miracleman)

    Edit:
Have T’Challa and Peter ever had any good team-ups outside the actual team books?

And unlike the others members of this team, his prehistoric Black Panther never got his own stand-alone issue.

Aaron got his BP plans derailed by John Ridley. Ridley wanted panther thoroughly buried in s*** and his feats and showing in Avengers were getting in the way of that

Aarons Moon Knight Arc is probably one of the top 5 stories featuring BP since Secret Wars ended.

    Not much competition, but still.

I remember during "The Other" Peter went to Wakanda to find a cure for whatever disease that was killing him, T'Challa said he was a warrior with the heart of a king, and I think he ate he HSH, it didn't help. I'm sure they've had other interactions, they've both been around too long not to.

It’s been well understood for years now that T’Challa and Peter are better written in other books than their own. Ewing’s Ultimates crapped over everything Coates was doing with T’Challa in his relaunch and say what you will about the early parts of Aaron’s Avengers but his T’Challa was written well. Outside of giving readers the competence porn that was absent in the main book, T’Challa’s characterization was among his best, with the scene where he was talking with the T’Chaka AI being a high point.

The Black Panther books do not need to hyper focus on worldbuilding, that’s only led to readership eroding and T’Challa getting written poorly to prop up bad OCs. Instead of adding breadth to Wakanda, there needs to be more depth to T’Challa and his cast. I’m far more interested in learning about T’Challa’s training abroad as a young man than Birnin Whatever that won’t be relevant 10 issues later. Characters like Shuri, Taku, and Okoye should be getting new subplots and character arcs instead of introducing more useless Beisas and Tosins.

The best way to world build was Redjacks KiB. Introduced characters without taking focus off T'Challa. Supporting cast was competent in a organic way and T'Challa saved the day at the end because he is the title hero and it's his franchise.

Give me Aaron's wacky isht. Nobody remembers world-building fondly and it only lasts until the next writer comes along and tears it all down. But I remember T'Challa whipping on Moon Knight and Khonshu. I remember T'Challa taking out vampires.

Most fans remember wins and losses, not the name of the name of the street where T'Challa and <insert new random supporting character>had lunch in some cafe'. It's great for background but it won't be the best part of the story.

Nothing noteworthy about either issue. This Panther is more of the Roy Thomas version of BP( not very good at all) than a Priest or Hudlin.

I wouldn't bother with either unless you're just a BP completionist.

I think BP has been getting more interactions with Miles in recent times than he ever had with Peter.

I believe the recent Miles run had BP offering him a scholarship.

He was also trying to find a cure for vampirism.

Yeah, no one cares about that stuff

The Wider 616 has been a true godsend for Good BP showings during the Coates era. It could've easily devolved into something terrible

Maybe that was in Marvel Voice bc I'm reading the current miles run and T'Challa hasn't been in it.
