Aw, I liked Rise and Fall of the Shi'ar Empire at the time. Haven't re-read it in years though.

I kind of enjoyed it the first time, but on reread it is straight garbage

- It is WAY TOO LONG
- Vulcan is a giant crybaby (he was written much better by DnA and maybe Yost)
- They killed Corsair and in a very anti-climactic, lame way
- The relationshipping is super gross and makes Gold look like a great read
* Rachel and Korvus who are attracted to each other because of a forced psychic thing but it's depicted as very romantic
* Deathbird and Vulcan fall in love immediately despite it being stated at that very point that Vulcan is mentally 15 years old (Guggs would of course get a pregancy out of it but thank god he forgot about that)
* Havok is basically perma-whining about how he needs validation and Polaris constantly states that he is extremely manly
