Almost certainly not. Bruce Lee and Shang are almost identical.
Give it time and we will almost certainly see Wong become the new sorocer supreme. Might make for some intriguing stories actually.
I agree, that article was incredibly dumb and stereotypical.

Cool. Thanks for the links. I read some of the other links there and they were really good, concise ways of catching up with Shang Chi. I didn't know that he had a biracial mom nor that Fu Manchu used a lot of mutant monsters. Part of me thinks it would be cool if sometime in the late 19th century he traveled to England and learned the secrets to manipulating the genetic code from Nathaniel Essex........................now there's an idea! But I digress....
While Shang's old costume still kinda irks me (I'm sorry it looks really tacky to me), the storytelling and the fight scenes seems top notch. Those old Shang-Chi comics definitely seemed to have elements of real East Asian philosophy in there, especially with the reference to filial piety towards the final issues of the series.
As a follow up to that, yeah, Bruce Lee's mom was half Chinese, half German. I saw old family photos of her at the Bruce Lee exhibit here at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum. As for whether or not Doug Moench or any other Shang-Chi writer had that in mind when writing Shang.............................yeah, I do wonder if that was coincidence as well. Anyone know?

Fu Manchu is the son of Sir William Clayton and Ling Ju Hai
Suzi Endo - the late, great, Cybermancer!

So both shang's parents are bi-racial east asians and the big guy he is about to fight calls him half-breed.

I am sorry, I just had to vote Jubilee. Honestly to me she is more or less Latino or something along those lines. In all honesty my favorite Marvel anything that is "Asian" is the Mandarin. The 1990's Iron-man version. You can not get any better then a guy with Captain planet Rings that shoots every single element ( or whatever it is ) on one hand. Also he is green skinned. Only other character I could think that is close to "Asian" is Psylocke or Morph.
The best thing about Mandarin thing about him, is that he defies all logic with Tony Stark and his equipment.
