Happy Birthday, Chris!
Thank you for the greatest team of young super heroes ever, The New Mutants! Thank you for all your strong female characters! But above all, thank you for having the courage and genius to give Magneto his identity, history, and Holocaust backstory 35 years ago! Magneto remains the greatest antagonist/anti-hero/villain/sometime hero in all of comics--all due to your creative brilliance!
And yes, I second the plea to the new EinC Cebulski--give Chris Claremont some comics to write!
He's not even going to read any of these messages and doesn't even care for any of you.
That may or may not be true. But that's not why fans write these messages. We're expressing our gratitude and love. You can do that for Jack Kirby too, on his birthday, and people indeed start threads to post their respect and love, even though he passed away years ago.
Happy birthday to you Mr. Claremont. Thanks for the many years of stories of Marvel’s X-men.
