    Well this should be interesting....
"AXIS" is the first event of the Marvel Universe featuring Sam Wilson as Captain America, and Remender said that there was a draft where Sam was zipping left to right all over the place, saving everybody from everything. "As I broke it down, as we were putting together the final beats, Sam's role shifted a little bit," said Remender. "Sam, like a lot of the other characters, plays a pretty heavy price. I think it's okay to say ... you'll be seeing a pretty big fight between Sam Wilson Captain America and all of the X-Men. It was nice to put Sam into that situation and see how that dynamic plays out -- Tony Stark getting order from Sam -- it was a nice stage to give Sam his first dance with the larger Marvel Universe as Cap."

I wonder how that will play out for Sam. He held his own in AvX and seemed to be giving Mimic some trouble but a battle with all of the X-Men? Hope he comes out of the fight looking good!

The 3 inch version of Capt. America Winter Solider figure is now out (only saw 2 of them)
A ten Falcon figure (red costume) from the Titan line is out.

At Target both go for $10.

I'm hoping he was just referring to some hard decisions Sam will have to make. While Redwing may seem kinda silly initially the little guy comes in handy. Burbarker run on Cap proved that several times.

Besides that I really think he adds something Sam that you don't get from other characters.

    I like Redwing.

If it was up to me, I'd give Redwing a superpower. For years there was speculation that Sam had latent mutant abilities. Wouldn't it be funny if Redwing was actually the mutant?

I'd give Redwing the ability to move its atoms so quickly that it creates a kind of null field effect that allows it to pass through solid objects. On inanimate objects this intangibility would be able to break down the bonds that bind molecules together, thus resulting in disintegration of said object. The null field would even work on other intangible, phasing foes, like Kitty Pryde or the Vision. In normal humans, the effect could disrupt bioelectric activity, resulting in anything from mild, temporary paralysis to rendering them comatose and at death's door. In enhanced humans, the null field effect would be able to temporarily prevent a foe from accessing their superhuman abilities. In effect, Redwing would be a walking, er, flying superpowers inhibitor. I'd even make the effect powerful enough to paralyze a berserker-enraged god for a minute or two. Enough time for Sam to collect himself and rejoin the battle, or retreat and call in reinforcements. Sam by himself is a force to be reckoned with, but Redwing and the shield would put Sam on a level with just about any enemy combatant without a writer needing to use the "jobber" skill to rationalize the outcome.

Anyway, just a dream. More than likely once Sam becomes Captain America, Redwing will find itself in limbo.

It's a interesting idea to say the least.....

It might even be fun for a one time/arc gadget that was placed on him. I can see Redwing being used more as a utility type asset every now and again. Dropping small grenades on the enemy or deploying ropes, nets, ect. But in saying that Redwing has come in handy in plenty of battles over the years.

Redwing to me is Falcon's greatest asset. With a pair of hawkeyes watching ur back it would almost be like having spidersense.

The version you are showing can only be found at Disney Stores or a few comic stores. I've never seen Marvel Select figures in Target.

The commercial seems to show on Cartoon Network between 1 Pm & 3 PM. I have yet to see it online.

Redwing is great. To me, he's just as an important part of Sam's life as Steve. I don't want him to fight all the X-men.

Unless they're giving Sam some serious upgrades, I don't think he'll be fighting the X-Men big guns. Probably a small group of less powerful mutants.

Marvel traditionally finds a way to build up a featured hero's rep by having him or her go toe to toe and defeat impossible odds. If Sam does take on the X-men and win, we can credit it to the Captain America aura. I seriously doubt if it was The Falcon taking on the X-men that he would come out the other side in one piece. Any one of the X-characters could easily end him. But then again, any number of Captain America's more powerful foes should have been able to end Steve Rogers as well. Whatever the case, I hope it's a good story.

I just don't want Sam to be made to look bad. I also think with the right plan Sam could do fine against most of the X-Men current line up. The guy did handle the wrecking crew by himself after all. Besides that Cap has tons of experience with setting up multiple foes who out gun him against each other and this is a skill Sam has demonstrated as well so if it's a situation like that I can see Sam doing pretty well against the X-Cast....depending on who is present at the time of course.

However, we also don't know if Sam is bring the Mighty Avengers with him either.

It all really comes down to which X-Men are there and how many he is up against if it is a solo situation.

    Edit:

Another thing to keep in mind .....even thought the Falcon has been around for years the characters if very much a blank slate when it comes to verses type matches. The Falcon has never really had the opportunity to be displayed good or bad against other big player villains or heroes. Anything he does when the spot light is suddenly on him is pretty much in the territory of fair game and where the bar will be set for comic fans going into the future.
