My favourite characters don't really change much these days as I don't follow many current comics. So...
Captain Marvel
Since always. Mainly sentimental reasons now. Red and blue costume only. Still think his red and blue is THE super-hero costume, for me at least. Don't really want him back alive now to be at the mercy of today's writers, but I miss new Mar-Vell art.
Captain Britain
Since the Davis/Thorpe revamp. Loved the hero who's always a little out of his depth, the straight-man in a sea of crazy. He's been treated horribly ever since Excalibur started, and I hate the way Claremont made him a bully, cheat, and pompous fool. American writers have been crapping on him ever since. Would like a UK written strip, but that's not going to happen.
Iron Fist
Since the early eighties. Proper kung fu superhero from inception, rather than an acrobatic fighter who got a bolt-on kung fu expansion-pack at a later date, like say Batman and Daredevil.
Thor
Since Simonson. Used to be my least favourite major Marvel hero until Walt came along and really made the epic mythology work in Marvel format. He's a truly epic hero when written right.
Spider-Man
Since always. So many great things went into this character - costume design, supporting cast, basic concept... all gold. Not particularly interested in reading new stories about the character, however, simply because I don't think they can top the ones I read as a kid.
Wolverine
Since... mid seventies? Before Byrne was penciller on X-Men anyway. Marvel have pimped him out way to much, but back when he was written well (pre-nineties) he was cool. Over-exposed and over-powered now, however.
Those are my top six and they haven't changed much in decades. The next four spots are far more fluid depending on my mood and what I've been rereading.
Magik
Since New Mutants in the eighties. Think Bendis has overpowered her, hate her killing Dr Strange's arch-nemesis Dormammu, hate the way her soulsword now looks like a cricket bat, but still think the character is interesting in the hands of the right writer.
Thanos
Since reading Starlin's Warlock. Superb villain in Warlock, and visually striking and a lot of fun.
Chamber
Since Gen X in the nineties. I guess just because he's English and has a cool visual. Has potential and I'm interested.
Wardog
Loved him since first seeing him (cyborg werewolf interdimensional mercenary with the gift of the gab) in the eighties Davis/Mooore Captain Britain. Would love to see him again.
Bubbling under: Wonder Man, Paladin, Elsa Bloodstone, the Black Knight, Loki, Rachel Summers, Silver Surfer, Adam Warlock.
Top 10:
1. Iron Man(Tony Stark)
2. Black Panther(T'Challa).
3. Vision
4. Thor Odinson
5. Scarlet Witch
6. Captain America(Steve Rogers)
7. Shuri
8. Misty Knight
9. Wasp
10. Thor (Jane Foster)
1. Ms. Marvel (Kamala)
2. Moon Knight
3. Medusa
4. Squirrel Girl
5. Karnak
6. Moon Girl
7. The Vision
8. Black Panther
9. Nova (Sam)
10. Spider-Man (Miles)
Thor Odinson
Ben Grimm
Dr. Strange
Valkyrie
She-Hulk
Phoenix (original Jean Gray)
Invisible Woman
Hercules
Moondragon
Lockjaw
Oooooooooo, this is going to be hard. I don't know if I can do just 10. I'll give it a try though:
Daredevil
Captain America (only because this is all time, otherwise he wouldn't be on this list)
Invisible Woman
Mister Fantastic
Cyclops
Rogue
Madrox
Miles Morales
Wolverine
Jean
Honorable mentions: Magneto, Emma, Blink & Mimic (from the Exiles), Nightcrawler, Kitty, Thing, Iron Fist, Captain Britain, Black Knight, Meggan and I'm probably missing others.

Wow, that was harder than I thought it would be. ^_^;; If this was MCU, I could say the likes of Cap and Winter Soldier, but I really don't necessarily like who they are in the comics.

Rogue (so glad she has cemented herself as one of the leads of Uncanny Avengers. I miss her in X-men, but Marvel is clearly not giving those characters love, respect, or spotlight.)
She-Hulk (Patsy comic is cute, but obvs. took the place/tone of the awesome SheHulk comic of a few years ago)
Emma Frost (bring her back. She can carry a story Marvel - Exhibit A DoX)
Hawkeye (Kate) - (yay solo!)
Miss America Chavez (Yass Young Avengers, where are Wiccan and Hulking?)
Magneto (the best X-man of the last several years. Who'd have thought?)
Strom (not for anything she's done last year but in hopes of better stories in the future)
Black Widow (continued beautiful comic run(s). I'm surprised because 6+ years ago I had 0 thoughts about her)
Cyclops (the old dead one. Marvel screwed the pooch on one of their best characters)
Vision (great run!)
A few years ago this would have been primarily X-men. Damn you Marvel your evil plan is working! Resist!
Characters I miss - Young Avengers, Future Foundation kids, decent X-men portrayal.
1. Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew).
2 .Kitty Pryde.
3. Moonstone.
4. Old man logan.
5. Storm.
6. Jubilee.
7. Iceman.
8. Emma Frost.
9. Rachel Grey.
10. Wolverine.
