I love the art. The lilt or lift in Dorma and Namor's eye/brows. But now at hopeless near 65, it seems funny that Namor is the only one in a speedo. It's underwater, who needs clothes at all?
Happy we are getting a new namor book. What did you think of the "hero" namor from the 90s comic? I kind of liked the "less jerk" namor in the book at the time. Plus they had some new bad guys like headhunter. Loved the invaders return story also. It brought back spitfire also! Wish marvel would use her more. She is a vampire flash!
Can't wait for the new book.
Namor the Sub-Mariner, Marvel's oldest character, will have been published for 85 years in 2024. So where's my GOOD Namor anniversary ongoing, Marvel?
They don't look at it from our perspective -- who knows, maybe there are space dwellers who look at Earth and say, "They're in AIR, why do they need clothes?"
But for whatever reason -- fashion, armor, cold currents, drifting fish poop, whatever -- Atlantean have been wearing clothes in the comics since 1939, so we're not going to try to retcon that.

Hi Mr Busiek!
It looks like Astro City is set to make a return https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/th...cid=uxbndlbing
Are there any past story lines that you plan to revisit or do you feel that all of those stories are complete? Also I see that it looks like they'll be released as GNs. Is that set in stone or is there still a possibility for a monthly comic format?
Looking forward to see what you have up your sleeve(besides your arm) .
Edit: Do you have Brent Anderson on retainer or something?
I'll point out that the only new quote they have from me there is: "What I've been telling people who ask is 'We hope to be making some exciting announcements soon,' and I think 'soon' might be very soon — but it's not quite here yet, so that’s all I can really say."
That's all true -- we do hope to be making some exciting announcements soon, and at the moment, "soon" looks like it's probably early October.
So I'll have more to say then, I expect.
Brent's drawing stuff!Edit: Do you have Brent Anderson on retainer or something?

Ever thought of doing stories on Jack Kirby's Celestials? And/or their spinoffs like the more recent Celestial Madonna, her Star Child, etc. = https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Celes...na_(Earth-616)

The Celestial Madonna is a spinoff of the Celestials now? Huh. I guess that's a retcon I missed.
I think it would be fun to write the Eternals someday, but the Celestials were more cosmic forces than characters with personality and drama. And whatever they do with the Eternals in the movies, I'm guessing, will be not what I like about them, and Marvel will stick with that.
But maybe I'll use the ideas I have in another project, you never know.
The Celestial Madonna -- Mantis -- is a character I always avoided, because I think she's one of those characters who only ever feels right when written by Steve Englehart. But I was pleased to help arrange for Steve to write AVENGERS: CELESTIAL QUEST, back when I was on AVENGERS.

Evening Mr. Busiek,
As the season approaches, do you have a favorite Halloween comic story?
Maybe not specifically a favorite, but I like the Rutland Vermont stories Marvel and DC used to do -- that had details that crossed over from company to company, back before there were intercompany crossovers.
I wish, someday, Marvel and DC would be able to do a book collection of the bunch of them, in publication order. They were fun.
