Fam. The movie was fantastic. I did have a problem with something but overall it was great. They didnt allow questions from the audience. Coates actually moderated a panel discussion that included Ryan Coogler, Nate Moore and Ruth Carter. I'm going to post my thoughts on the movie tomorrow.

Ahh yes, the famed noble/magical negro syndrome. That's out the door too

-No more only 1 black person allowed on screen with speaking roles at any given time
-No more asexual black males (hypersexual in hood movies)
-No more peanuts for a budget

Hollywood must think that we're either we're breeders or we're not.

Also welcome back Brother Maj, have you taken a look at Rise#2?
Thanks Brother Ezyo, I haven't had the pleasure of reading Rise #2 yet but based on what most of you are saying, I'll definitely be giving it a look see.

Dude, you gotta check out rise quick, it's the series we should of had coming out of SW. Evan's knows his stuff and actually cares about T'Challa. And in the one Issue he probably gave Tchalla as many feats as Coates has in his entire series, that are actually Tchalla feats band not some an assist.

Evan's is killing it, the art is beautiful, dialogue is good, a bit heavy at times but Evans is doing good for a newbie.butnthe most important thing, Evans actually cares and likes Tchalla and it shows.

My only complaint in this series? That media and the book cover itself are giving Coates top billing even though in several interviews Evans had made it clear that he is a consultant at best and the script is all his. Even the main book on the second page lists Coates as a consultant but tries to play it off as if he is the main writer and co writing with Evan. But the contents show this is Evans work
Completely different voice from. Tchalla, and mannerism, and actual prep.

Also check out Black Panther: Sound and Fury. It came out same time as rise #2 and a rare case where we get two great issues in one week!

I hope its big enough to warrant a large audience around the world. I'm not really worried about the American box office to be honest.

It's just the international numbers that I'm a bit iffy on. Gosh this is so exciting and yet so scary.

I would think because of the whole international globe trotting 007 vibe this movie would do better than your typical marvel solo flick. But I guess we'll see. Either way though, I Don't think there's anything to worry about.
