    Wildcat
    Mr. Terrific
Those two made the next poll.

And, again, this isn't for "Favorite members from all years PERIOD."
I'm doing polls based on who was a regular / active member based on when they were first regularly active with the team.

And would add various people not on the list, like Wildcat, Firebrand/Danette Reilly or the Earth 2 Huntress (Helena Wayne) or Robin, from that generation.
    Again, see reply above.
This is for people who WERE members of the JSA during certain periods of time.
Helena Wayne Huntress and Earth-2 Robin (as well as Wildcat) are on Poll II:As for Danette, as far as I know, she was a member of the All-Star Squadron and not a member of the JSA.

DC is supposedly going to collect the JSA runs from the 1990s (last I heard they'd be available next year?). Those are quite enjoyable if you like the Golden Age originals.

    There is also:

    The Justice Society Returns
which collects a run from 1999 (just before the 1999 JSA series was published)

As well as two volumes that came out about ten years ago that collected 1970s stories from All-Star Comics and Adventure Comics.

I have those trades of the 1970's stories. Pretty good stuff.

Thanks for being so precise! So many people assume Wildcat was an original and frequent member of the Golden Age JSA when he wasn't. Even the JSA series would sometimes refer to him an original member. Love him regardless though.

The exceptional Johnny Thunder and his sensational Thunderbolt FTW (honorable mentions: Alan Scott, Hawkman, and Jay Garrick).

Johnny and his Thunderbolt have the fewest votes on the poll at the moment, though Atom (Al Pratt) only has one more vote than Johnny and the Thunderbolt do.

Unfortunate. Johnny's no Jakeem, but he's still one of my favorites of the old guard.

I know that we're allowed to pick multiple characters, but I wanted to select the top character. And for me that was easy. Even though I like all of the original JSAers, there were only two that appeared in every story--Hawkman and the Atom. And Hawkman was the clear leader of the team. I use to have a low opinion of the Atom, but I've come around to liking his stupid ways; however, he's no Hawkman. None of the other characters fully represents the entire run of the JSA from the '40s--many members fell out early on, others came later and a few returned after a long absence. So Hawkman wins.
