We present to you Age of Marvels: New Universe, a collection of all new fan-made issues on “sale” this month for APRIL -MAY 2024!

What is “Age of Marvels” and how does it work?

Age of Marvels is a fan fiction universe and solicitation game that has been in existence on the CBR boards for well over a decade! It has gone through several iterations and has survived forum reboots! The way it works is that “plotters” write short solicitations for monthly comic books! Then participants “buy” the books they want to read! The books with the most buys get rewards. Sounds fun, right? So let’s do this! Which of this month's solicits interest and excite you? Let us know by posting which books you'd pick up in the virtual Age of Marvels Store (this solicitation thread). You can pull as many as you'd like, but also consider your "virtual budget" when making your selections, as sales are used to reward our titles and plotters. Registers are open for a month and sales are tallied on the third Friday of the month.

Absolutely anyone can make purchases right here in this thread - so please do!.
It’s free and is basically just saying “I’d read this” or “I like this!” So let us know! There has never been a more excelsior time to join the fun!

Surge knows the right call in this situation: Party!
Before anybody can say anything, Surge uses her super-speed to assemble all the decorations, drinks, snacks, and substances they’ll need. And invited all the cool kids in the general student body, too.
There will be dancing! Kissing! Drama! Drinking! Outfits! More kissing!
This is the behavior that made Noriko’s parents back in Japan kick her out.
Does she regret it? Occasionally. But also definitely no.
Despite themselves, the Paragons find themselves enjoying themselves.
Even when they realize that Surge also invited the Dark Riders!
As promised, there is drama. Jetstream crushes on Dragon! Surge does a keg stand! Pixie makes out with Uriel of the Apocalypse Twins! Surge vomits! Cylobel and Bling have a moment! Surge makes out with Deadbolt, and no, she doesn’t like him! Nobody makes out with Pipeline, but he’s definitely trying. Chance… stands by the snack table. With Dragon. They also have a moment!
It’s a lovely, messy night… until the alarms go off and the school goes into lockdown.
Apparently there’s a MUTANT WAR going on outside?!?

AMAZING FANTASY #49

Ian Fleming’s James Bond 007 and Doc Savage in "THE FORTUNES OF HELL, part 1"
James Bond has managed to save the gold reserves of Opar. Similarly, Doc Savage has kept the gold supply of Hidalgo safe. In both countries though, the objective was not the gold (although it wouldn’t have been a bad thing) but items made from meteorites that had fallen into each land over 160 years earlier. Sir Denis Nayland Smith suspects the Wold Cottage (aka Wold Newton) meteorite which had fallen at roughly the same time is relevant. Smith has MI6 Quartermaster Q and Doc Savage associate chemist Monk Mayfair to examine it and its mild radioactive qualities seeking clues to why Fu Manchu went to so much trouble to steal similar rocks from space.
Fu Manchu is believed to be stationed in one of his heavily armed castles deep inside Tibet. Because of the barely ended Sino-Indian War, Theodore Marley "Ham" Brooks, Doc Savage’s Harvard educated lawyer associate and Bill Tanner, M’s Chief of Staff hunt for a plan which will avoid starting WW3 in a region where the two most populated countries on Earth have recently engaged in warfare.
The plan is for James Bond, Doc Savage, Pat Savage, Pussy Galore, Felix Leiter, and Colonel John "Renny" Renwick, an engineer who not only can punch through a door, but can calculate how to take the entire building down with minimal force. The six will fly to Doc’s Arctic Fortress of Solitude to use a less obvious route.
While the six are heading North, Fu Manchu’s gangs of lascars, Indian sailors under Fu’s command attack MI6 headquarters.

Good morning and welcome to Wake Up America! We're your hosts Michelle Winzer along with Jill Krichard and we've got a lot to talk about! The tension around the globe has risen and the calls for sanctions against Wakanda grow louder each day! Let's go now to our Senior Foreign Affairs correspondent Lisa Welcher who is at the UN right now. Lisa, what can you tell us?
Hi Jill I'm standing here outside of the United Nations among dozens of protesters as Wakandan leader King T'Challa addresses the assembly! No cameras are allowed but we do have reporter Kwesi Illonda inside the proceedings who can give us an update! Kwesi?
Good morning Lisa! There are a lot of stern faces here listening to King T'Challa as he makes his case that Wakanda was not behind the attack on N'Gabo! What I can tell you is that there are many here who have already made up their minds including U.S. Ambassador Glenn Hawkins! He is among a growing chorus of nations that want Wakanda held accountable for their actions and is calling for sanctions!
T'Challa stands before the assembly and delivers his message: Wakanda did not deliberately attack N'Gabo and cause the deaths of thousands. He is conducting his own investigation and the true masterminds behind this heinous act will be held into account and brought to justice! He warns the UN not to act in haste and push matters to far. If they continue with their aggressive rhetoric and actions towards Wakanda, then expect Wakanda to defend itself against any threat!
In Washington, The President and his advisors gather to determine their next move. The world is already rallied against Wakanda and polls show that the majority of the U.S. wants something to be done. However the POTUS is not ready to act yet. He wants more concrete evidence that Wakanda committed a serious crime. In Congress, various committees are meeting to discuss next steps in the N'Gabo crisis. While some believe that more time is needed to weigh all options, there are those who want to strike now, one among them is Sen. Sharon Kelly. While the President sits on his hands, she thinks that the U.S. needs to send a bold message.
She steps into a secure room and makes a call to Peter Gyrich, co-Director of HAMMER. She tells him they won't get a better chance to make a move. Send The Shadow Initiative and take down The Black Panther!

Although appearing loyal, behind closed doors Zarek grew increasingly displeased with his service to the Supreme Intelligence. In his disillusionment, he found a new god to worship: Chthon!
The Kree’s greatest cultural division was conflict surrounding stagnated evolution. This was why they created the Inhumans, though that experiment failed. Chthon, however, offered a new kind of empowerment! Slowly and in secret, Zarek began warping his revolutionary followers with gifts from the dark elder god. He was meticulous in his conspiracy: secretly converting entire imperial militiamen chapters to his cause! The “Cosmic Spears” chapter, for example, accepted the curse of lycanthropy and became the “Howling Spears.” So, too, did the “System Redeemers” embrace vampirism, becoming the “System Exsanguinators.” The plan was for Zarek to join with Chthon’s forces for galactic dominance once the elder god subjugated Earth… but that never happened. Chthon was slain (see the summer event of 2022, FEAR ITSELF!), but his disciple Zarek lived on, adapted, and prepared for this moment…

Duncan Wynter, Janet Rosario and Malcolm King arrive at The Initiative Academy in Yuma, Arizona along with dozens of other recruits to begin their training with their instructor Super-Patriot. This is where they'll find out if they have what it takes to become the next, great America hero! Duncan looks around at the other recruits, mostly young like him plus a few older people. There's a girl around his age that catches his eye. Angel Simmons comes from a long line of those who have served in the military going back to The Civil War. What better way to prove herself to her family by using her super-strength to serve her country. Super-Patriot tells them to can the chatter and listen closely. Today is the day to separate the weak from the strong! The are the next generation of American greatness!
US Agent and his team has secured the alien and the ship found in Kansas and are returning to Camp Hammond. Unfortunately the alien did not survive the crash but Gyrich wants to see if there is anything that can be gained from studying it and along with the ship's technology. Miss America asks agent if they are doing the right thing by exploiting the dead. Agent tells her that their role is not to question. Their job is to follow orders! Meanwhile Peter Gyrich receives a private call from Sen Kelly. She wants him to send the Shadow Initiative to bring in The Black Panther while he is still in the country and tell them to be discreet about it. Gyrich calls Agent Nuke and tells him to get his team ready. They're about to go big cat hunting!

He awakens in an unfamiliar hut surrounded by a grim swamp. Is he still on Svartalfheim? The last thing the Mighty Thor remembers is helping Kurse mobilize an assault on Malekith’s Ebony Throne. Instinctively, he calls for his hammer, Mjolnir. It does not answer. Odd. He passes a mirror. His reflection is… unfamiliar.
His ears are pointed. His skin is a purplish-gray. He, somehow, has found himself in the body of a dark elf! What devilry is this?
A female dark elf enters the room. A warrior. She refers to him as “father” and tells him that his clan is awaiting his decision. He is, evidently, some kind of leader… and his people are in trouble!
A civil war has erupted on Svartalfheim. The Black Bile, Bitterhand, Scumtongue, and Sourfoot clans are loyal to Malekith. The Undertaker, Hag Wart, and Dove Gut clans are loyal to Kurse and the Daughters of Døkkr. Thor, apparently, is the leader of the elusive Greyside Clan. The Greyside are powerful, with many warriors and wizards, and could tip the balance of the conflict!
But when Malekith himself arrives in the Greyside Enclave with generous offers in an effort to recruit the clan to his side, he has Thor’s kidnapped daughter, Angerboda, in tow! Without a hammer or godly power, can Thor rescue his newborn child and lead the Greyside Clan to reject Malekith?
Things get even more complicated when Balder the Brave arrives on the scene! He and his allies, Atum and the Warriors Three, all apparently think Thor is dead! Balder’s quest is to rescue his niece and avenge his brother - and he doesn’t care how many dark elves he must slay to make it happen!

That morning Aunt May gives Peter a letter from his Uncle Ben written to Peter when he was first taken in by his aunt and uncle.

“The Grey Area of the Moon?!”
The X-Men Silver are rocked by Karma’s revelation that she accidentally founded Xorneto’s Brotherhood.
Consequences will have to wait, because suddenly the Brotherhood arrives on the Moon!
But Xorn isn’t here to fight. Not yet.
Layla “Snowfall” Miller points towards the stars, and suddenly a Shi’ar spaceship appears!
Xorneto’s magnetic powers bring the hijacked ship down for a crash landing — and from the wreckage emerges the woman of the hour, Phoenix herself, Jean Grey!
Also, Cyclops. He’s important too!
As Xorn approaches Jean, the X-Men jump into action.
Karma and Third Eye lock in psychic battle! The mind invader versus the dream architect.
Mercury and Ricochet tackle Chrysalis. They get the upperhand… but their foe lives up to his name, hatching from his rocky shell. A winged green energy creature emerges. First Onyxx, then Chrysalis, and finally… Mothman?!
Iceman and the beautiful equine Caeneus fight an erotically charged dance of ice and hooves! This ain’t Texas!
Layla Miller knows stuff. That makes her dangerous. But she’s still a child. As Academy X’s Dean of Students, can Silhouette fight her?
Lastly, Cyclops and Phoenix take on Xorn, an unfamiliar enemy in the guise of their first foe, Magneto!
One by one, mutants fall. Ricochet and Mercury best Mothman, but are gassed out. Caeneus is stuck in an ice sculpture. Silhouette is out cold. Third Eye is trapped in his own mind palace.
It’s down to six: Jean, Cyclops, Karma, and Iceman; vs. Xorn and Layla Miller.
The Brotherhood is outnumbered… but Xorn’s powers are vast, and there’s nothing he won’t do.
For example, manipulating the polarity of water molecules to tear Iceman into a million pieces.
Yikes!
Three vs. two, then, which doesn’t last long as Xorn traps Cyclops in a pulsarmite prism.
Xorn will have Jean’s child, even if he needs to give her a planetary stroke to get it!
Karma, pushing her power to its limits, takes over Xorn’s mind — it’s hard to control a star brain!
This gives Jean an opportunity — with the Phoenix Force, she reaches into the chaos of Xorn’s mind. And changes it.
"Understanding" now that the safest place for the child is with the Phoenix, Xorn uses a wormhole to disappear with his Brotherhood.
Only Layla Miller is left behind, looking smug. She *knew* this would happen.
Hard as it is to believe, considering the horror in Peekskill, Layla insists that this was the least deadly of Xorn’s paths.
Seeing Xorn and the Brotherhood’s radicalization back in GALM, she told Xorn of Jean’s child, setting him on this path.
With Xorn defeated, Layla surrenders herself into Karma’s custody.
Jean asks Layla: if she knows so much, what should she do?
Layla only says that they’ll find Wolverine and Storm in Cooperstown, Alaska.
The X-Men Silver Support Team arrives, and Triage and Dr. Reyes ensure everybody is in one piece. Literally, in Iceman’s case. (After the sad fate of ᐊᐃᔅᒪᓐ, Scott and Jean are particularly relieved.)
Silhouette takes Phoenix and Cyclops to Alaska. Karma promises that if the couple needs them, X-Men Silver will help!
Iceman agrees… but after his old friends are gone, he informs Karma that after this Mutant War is over, there will be a serious talk about X-Men Red!
