Default DC Next Dawn - July Solicits!

We present to you DC Next Dawn, a collection of all new fan-made issues on “sale” this month, JULY 2022!

What is “DC Next Dawn” and how does it work?

Next Dawn, previously known as “New Dawn,” is a fan fiction universe and solicitation game that has been in existence on the CBR boards for approximately ten years! It has gone through several iterations and has survived forum reboots! The way it works is that “plotters” write short solicitations for monthly comic books! Then participants “buy” the books they want to read! The books with the most buys get rewards. Sounds fun, right? So let’s do this! Which of this month's solicits interest and excite you? Let us know by posting which books you'd pick up in the virtual Next Dawn Store (this solicitation thread). You can pull as many as you'd like, but also consider your "virtual budget" when making your selections, as sales are used to reward our titles and plotters. Registers are open all month and sales are tallied at the end of the month.

Absolutely anyone can make purchases right here in this thread - so please do!. It’s free and is basically just saying “I’d read this” or “I like this!” So let us know!

If you want more information on Next Dawn or are interested in plotting yourself, please visit us at the Next Dawn Bullpen Thread.

    Behold! Our monthly archive!
This is the repository of our prior work; a compilation of all the monthly solicitation posts since the forum was reset in 2014.

Aquaman thinks he might have a way. Oceanid was once a city-state of Atlantis before it collapsed, originally a colony on a world completely covered by water. They may still possess spacefaring vessels that could return J’onn home. But will this isolated, distant kingdom answer the aqua-telepathic call of their champion? Or do they have bigger, more alien problems of their own?
Meanwhile, the United States Government is rather displeased at the Martian’s escape. They’ve deployed Major Rhonda Ricoh, codenamed "Great White,” and her U.S. Aquamarines - specially trained and fish-mutated USMC super soldiers - to bring both J’onzz and Aquaman in… dead or alive! Oorah, semper natare!

    Written by Gerard Way
    Drawn by Nick Derington
    Plot by captcleghorn
Gotham City has a high homicide rate. That is an indisputable fact. What’s been making it worse recently is a killer with no other motive than their victim’s age. People from all walks of life have been killed and all they have in common is being 27 years old. Of major concern are the Gotham quintuplets, who have a habit of loudly and openly celebrating their birth and this week, they turn 27. Can the GCPD manage to catch, or even stop the 27 Club Killer? The Bat-Signal goes up.

“Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better!”
    Written by J.M. DeMatteis
    Drawn by Scott McDaniel
    Plot by captcleghorn
One of the more well-known tragedies in Gotham’s law and order story is Harvey Dent. As a D.A., Dent was assaulted by a criminal who threw acid in his face that scarred the left side of his visage. Dent called himself Two Face and embarked on a life of crime focusing on the number two. Dent used a coin scarred on one side to ascertain which direction his morality would focus on. The unblemished side meant good, the scarred side, evil.
During his last stint at Arkham, Dent was treated by a psychiatrist named Trey Kolme. Believing that Dent’s fixation on the number two was the keystone of his illness, Kolme focused on breaking Dent of that reliance on the binary. But as usually happens, Dent escaped interrupting Kolme’s work. Instead of sitting back and letting batman bring Dent back, Kolme decides to outdo Two Face by scarring two thirds his face, leaving three distinct areas. Can Three Face finally end the threat of Two Face?

    "Desmodus Draculae"
    Plot by NX01A
    Written by BRUCE TIMM
    Art by KELLEY JONES
The multiverse can be bloody, and one world within it runs red with a vampire Batman hunting criminals in Gotham's dark night. Even as he hunts for a new blood-sucking MAN-BAT and the possible cure for his own vampirism within the creature's blood, this Batman is himself hunted by the techno-armoured AZRAELS of SAINT DUMAS. Also chasing Man-Bat is nosteratu slayer ROBIN VAN HELSING but will this Robin help Batman or stake him?

    “THE BATMAN WHO F***S!”
    Plot by EXCITER
    Written by MILO MANARA
    Art by FRANK CHO
On another world in the Dark Multiverse, the Batman was exposed to a unique blend of pheromones and aphrodisiacs concocted by the alchemical ace Poison Ivy… and absorbed them! With a libido driven to seek endless sexy justice, Bruce Wayne of Earth-69 became… the Batman Who F***s!
Armed with washboard abs and killer dance moves (remember the Batusi?), Batman has used skills as the world’s greatest lothario to thwart the schemes of the fully in-heat Catwoman, the sadomasochistic Bane, and the bisexual Two-Face… but now he must endeavor to foil the plot of the ever-impotent Mr. Freeze, who plans to cause city-wide shrinkage and end steamy sexual relations in Gotham forever! Can the cowled cocksman curb the cantankerous crime of the cold-gun-wielding curmudgeon?

    THE FLASH #36
    Plot by EXCITER
    Written by ROBERT KIRKMAN
    Art by FRANK CHO
    “SPEED OF SMELL”
Barry Allen is undercover within the World Organization for Advancement of Humanity (W.O.A.H.) and making great progress: he’s formed a bond with W.O.A.H.’s director, Captain Atom, and non-violently resolved an issue with shaggy alien pilgrims, in the process gaining a friend/sidekick in S'kidds'kakoth, a.k.a. S'kidd-Flash! This success, however, is about to end…
The Green Lantern Corps intervened in W.O.A.H.‘s effort to commandeer an alien station orbiting Neptune (see GREEN LANTERN #35). Now the Corpsmen from Earth are deemed international criminals and charged with treason! When the Speedster Division is assigned to a joint operation with the Feral Division to arrest John Stewart, Barry not only has to somehow help his old Justice League friend but must, at all costs, avoid the Feral Division’s leader: Cheetah! Given their history (she may have killed his mother!), Cheetah knows Barry Allen’s unique scent and will definitely smell that “John Broome: Marathon Man” is a rat!
But Flash also knows Cheetah is part of Vandal Savage’s Light. Captain Atom seems like a good guy, though… so does he know about Cheetah? Can Barry risk telling him? Cap’s not an Illuminatus… is he?
Oh, and thanks to S'kidd-Flash, Barry knows that he and Cheetah are destined to go back in time and raise armies that fight over the fate of planet Savoth. But when the hell is that gonna happen?
    32 PGs./Rated T+ …$2.99

    GREEN LANTERN #36
    Plot by EXCITER
    Written by MARK MILLAR
    Art by JOE MADUREIRA
    “HOME SWEET HOME”
Stranded on Earth. Cutoff from the Corps. Hunted by government-sponsored meta-human special-mission squads. And with less than 5% charge on all their rings… the humans Green Lanterns are in serious trouble!
Killer Frost, Agent of W.O.A.H., has vowed to bring in Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Guy Gardner, and Jessica Cruz… hot or cold, it doesn’t matter to her! As the Lanterns are now considered traitors and part of an illegitimate alien organization that unlawfully exercised jurisdiction over Earth and the Sol system, their capture is a priority and Frost has the full metahuman resources of W.O.A.H. at her disposal! That includes: the Feral Division, animalistic soldiers led by Cheetah; the Brick Division, powerhouses led by the hulking behemoth Damage; and the Speedster Division, really fast types led by newcomer “Marathon Man.” Hmm, he seems kinda familiar…
For John, Guy, and Jessica, is there any escape from the superpowers of humanity? And just where did Hal disappear to?
    32 PGs./Rated T+ …$2.99

•With DIE DAME and ALTER ADELE dead, the final battles begin! ÜBER vs LEFT WING! FRÄULEIN FÜRST vs MISTRESS WOMAN and BATTLEDRESS! Max, MA'ALEFA'AK, BLACKFIRE, and VOODOO vs the remaining She Wolves of the SS standing between them and their only way off this god-forsaken dead planet: the Realitätstor!

    MAN OF BRONZE #11

    Artist: Philip Tan
    Plotter: Marvell2100
    THE IRON LADY
Ben has gotten word from Grifter, a member of his former black ops team about another team member, John Diggle! Diggle was the one who betrayed them and left them all to rot inside a prison in the African country of Burendia! It was a brutal two years of abuse and sadistic torture, something that none of them will ever forget. So if there is a chance that they can get Diggle and make him pay for his betrayal, that's an opportunity that the Bronze Tiger won't miss!
But unknown to Ben, another problem is about to become a serious threat in his future. The Eastern European nation of Uzikstan has been through a lot of turmoil in recent weeks. Ben had no small part in the tiny nations' recent troubles, after all, he was the one who killed their previous President Igor Khisnov (see: Man of Bronze #5)! After many attempted assassinations, Khisnovs' wife Katrina has taken control of Uzikstan and brought stability to the gov't. Like her husband, she rules with an iron fist and has taken the name The Iron Lady. With her rule firmly established and her enemies dead, Katrina has assembled a team of mercenaries to hunt down The Bronze Tiger and bring him before her in shackles!

    THE QUESTION #36
    Writer: MARK RUSSELL
    Artist: BILL SIENKIEWICZ
    Plotter: CaptCleghorn
“Where in the World is Charles Victor Szasz?”
Part 8: “Hey Vic, Why Don't You Go Back Home?”
Vic Sage is back in front of the camera after his heart attack in Boston. Producer Cat Grant is trying to serve Vic a ready made show he has very little to physically exert himself on. Vic, however, will have none of that. Cat wants Vic to cover the mysterious mirrored room beneath the intersection of Bowery and Canal as well as what is beneath the isle of Manhattan. She also talks about plans to expand the island even further.
Vic, on the other hand, wants to focus on the other four boroughs of NYC. “Forget Manhattan” he says. Actually, he says something else, but we can’t use that word in our all ages solicitation. Humoring her temperamental star Cat accompanies Vic to various locations outside of Manhattan. Finding some material, Vic tries to build it up, but the one sight he sees is Myra Fermin, widow to the deceased mayor of Hub City. As readers remember, Myra left right after Wesley’s supposed death and the exposure of a doppleganger double running for Governor.
Myra’s currently up for a part in a Broadway jukebox musical based on the songs of Lorelei Circe, the Siren. Knowing the singer is in town and that she and Vic have a history, Cat networks with Myra to invite her to appear on the show.

When a city is menaced by electromagnetic fluctuations, the G-Men immediately suspect their old nemesis, HANS LECKTER.
The only hole in that theory? Hans Leckter is currently... a baby? That’s a story for another time.
Rainmaker flexes her weather manipulation to new heights to stabilize the atmosphere... but that’s not a sustainable solution.
Thankfully, those responsible take credit: the nefarious conspiracy known by the name D.E.M.O.N.!
They demand a ransom, or else they’ll magnetically level the city... but the G-Men aren’t about to let that happen.
When they confront DEMON at their base, they discover the source of the disaster: a diabolical device powered a young Gen-Active named Rhea Jones!
Can they save the day and the girl?

All they know is that Ohmen threatens to kill him if they don’t rescue him first.
But what game is he playing? And why does he feel so familiar?
Professor G is able to detect a familiar psychic trace on Ohmen — the same one he detected on Kuano!
As the mystery deepens, the G-Men face a bizarre gauntlet in their attempt to rescue Basilisk!
They sense that they’re being tested... but why?
