We present to you DC Next Dawn, a collection of all new fan-made issues on “sale” this month, JULY 2023!

What is “DC Next Dawn” and how does it work?

Next Dawn, previously known as “New Dawn,” is a fan fiction universe and solicitation game that has been in existence on the CBR boards for approximately ten years! It has gone through several iterations and has survived forum reboots! The way it works is that “plotters” write short solicitations for monthly comic books! Then participants “buy” the books they want to read! The books with the most buys get rewards. Sounds fun, right? So let’s do this! Which of this month's solicits interest and excite you? Let us know by posting which books you'd pick up in the virtual Next Dawn Store (this solicitation thread). You can pull as many as you'd like, but also consider your "virtual budget" when making your selections, as sales are used to reward our titles and plotters. Registers are open all month and sales are tallied at the end of the month.

Absolutely anyone can make purchases right here in this thread - so please do!. It’s free and is basically just saying “I’d read this” or “I like this!” So let us know!

"The Invincible Metallo"
Lex Luthor makes his move.
In Metropolis, Lex pays a visit to Metallo, who is still trying to save Lois Lane from Bizarro.
And Lex offers an upgrade for Metallo.
The usual Green Kryptonite that powers the heart of Metallo does not affect Bizarro.
Only the Blue isotope of Kryptonite created by the Duplication Ray is able to kill Bizarro.
Enter Metallo 2.0, with the all new Blue-K upgrade.
Meanwhile, Lois Lane reaches out to Clark Kent for help, as she is trying to save Bizarro.
Clark follows her instruction to arrive at an abandoned building outside Metropolis.
The Blue-K bullet is poisoning Bizarro and he is dying, Clark must find a way to stop the radiation poisoning.
To make things worse, Metallo arrives at this moment to save Lois from Bizarro.
Metallo crashes through the wall and attacks Bizarro, causing the building to collapse.
But just when Clark uses his super speed to change into Superman, he is suddenly attacked by a Sandman.
Superman punches into the Sandman, only to find his fists stuck in the sands, and the Sandman begins to drain his powers.
The Man of Tomorrow falls to his knees, and he realizes that as the Sandman drains his power, it is also becoming more and more like Superman?!
Lex smiles in the distant, as his plans have finally come to fruition.
Can Superman get out of the impossible situation to save both Lois and Bizarro?
And who or what is the mysterious Sandman Superman?

Four thousand years ago, at the apex of the Xia Dynasty in what is now known as China, a remarkable child was born. The Firstborn of the Second Generation of Gen-Active.
Qi Zhân Dēng, abandoned at birth, eventually became the man who drowned the tyrant king Tai Kang.
Immortal and immensely powerful, he could have been king. But he left the land of his birth to seek out those like him.
In his travels and conquests, tales spread, such as the story that inspired the story of the Sword of Damocles.
He even plundered the remains of an Omega Titan buried under the sand of Egypt, infusing himself with its cyber-organic essence and gaining access to the four Stones with which he would crest his Four Swords!
After centuries, Damocles founded a community of Gen-Actives on the living island of Nouka. He had a people, a family, warriors all. But it was not to last.
A tragedy split Nouka in two — Kuano and Akonu, and the later was lost to the clutches of the Eret-Ha. His family stayed on Akonu, exiled to hold back the demon tide. A heartbroken Damocles put Kuano to rest, and set out into the world once more.
Damocles headed the lesson of this tragedy well — the world was not strong enough. It took his entire nation of tau-level metahumans to repel the demons, and it was barely enough.
He would forge a stronger world, to honor his family — by any means necessary!

Bat On A Hot Tin Roof!
Bat-Wing finds himself face-to-face with Michael Cray, aka Deathblow, one of the most feared mercenaries in the world! After being slammed into a wall, David has a gun shoved in his face with Deathblow demanding answers! Why is he in Obunda? Did he have anything to do with the death of Ken Yao? Instead of giving answers, David gives a punch to the face of Cray backing him up. Cray shrugs of the punch and begins firing his gun hitting David in the right arm! Fighting off the pain, he fires an electric shock from his suit that barely misses Cray, who moves in closer and hits David on his injured arm! He then grabs him from behind and puts his gun to David's head again! "Answer my questions or get a new head!"
David tells him that he had nothing to do with Yao's death, he was trying to find out who killed him and why! Deathblow slowly releases him and tells him that he was hired to kill Yao but someone beat him to it. David begins to wonder what is really going on? What secrets did the Chinese businessman have and how many people wanted him dead? David tells Cray that they should work together to find out what Yao knew, who wanted him dead and why? Elsewhere, a phone rings in a private office and a voice on the other end says that Yao is dead but there is a new complication. There's a vigilante digging around into Yao's murder and he's working with Cray. The person on the other end says don't worry, they have someone who can take care of Cray and the vigilante! The celebratory ball for Illyana Khisnov, the newly elected President of Uzikistan has come to a screeching halt as dozens of heavily armed assassins from The Guild crash the party! They're here to ensure that Khisnov becomes a one-term president by killing her just weeks after her election! The elite party-goers begin to panic, hurriedly trying to escape the terror and chaos! But the assassins didn't count on a few of the guests being some of the most dangerous people in the world! One of those guests being Ben Turner, aka Bronze Tiger and the other being The Red Lion, Matthew Bland! Even Lena Killian is holding her own against some of the deadliest assassins!
Suddenly a new group of armed agents enter the fight, surrounding The President to protect her! Others methodically go throughout the room, killing The Guild assassins and taking no prisoners! Ben and Bland stand back-to-back, forging an uneasy alliance as they try to protect the other guests! It ends as quickly as it began, with all assailants dead and the President and everyone else safe! As the dead are removed and the guests tended to, Khisnov thanks Ben and Matthew Bland for their help and introduces them to the head of her private security force: Flo' Crowley, Ben's ex-wife!

While Connor, Avila and Richard Dragon continue their search to build out their team, The Guild of Assassins is making major moves of it's own. Billy and Anita are planning a high profile meeting that will have a huge impact on the future of The Guild and turning it into a major power in the world!
Things are also going well for their "recruitment" drive. They have been very successful in bringing in new blood to train and mold them, breaking away from the teachings of their former master Richard Dragon! However, there is concern in Africa about agents from The DRC(Democratic Republic of the Congo) who have been investigating reports of missing children(That would be Kia Okura and Rick Flagg over in Bat-Wing!). Nothing can be tied back to The Guild so Anita gives the order: Kill everyone connected to the operation and then kill the agents!

They’re called Breakneck and Running Shoes… or, rather, they were. Those were their “meta names” - the names they chose after Vandal Savage first found them and activated their dormant metagenes, changing their lives forever and turning them both into speedsters. They had those names when they worked for the now defunct World Organization for Advancement of Humanity, until the Flash showed them that W.O.A.H. was corrupt. They had those names when they became the Flash’s protégées, doing good deeds under an honest, heroic mentor. They had those names when the Black Racer came… killed a planet, defeated their mentor, and stole the Flash’s body as his new avatar. The Black Racer threatened Breakneck and Running Shoes to never use their speed again… or he’d come for them. That’s when they stopped using the names.
Thereafter, they were just Johnny Swangone and Gina Gabrowski again - two normal people who did normal things, as if they never activated their metagenes.
Then came Damocles. The ancient “Gen-Active” believes metahumans are the strongest and most worthy of life, naturally superior to baseline humans and aliens. Under Damocles, they need not fear a “New God.” No, under Damocles they would become even newer gods, replacing the old… violently, if necessary. Under Damocles, they can finally be Breakneck and Running Shoes again. They can fight the Black Racer. All they have to do is accept Damocles' offer to join him and his mission.

Based on troubling intelligence that the Thanagarian Empire was conducting experiments on the Source Wall, the Green Lantern Corps’ flagship, the G.L.C.S. Interceptor, is dispatched on a peacekeeping mission. Captain Guy Gardner arrives to find that Earth’s G-Men and the Omega Men were first on the scene and largely resolved the immediate threat before hastily leaving… but have they unleashed something worse?
Oan records said there were four Omega Titans inside the Source Wall. Those records need to be updated. There’s a lot more… and they’re all gone! With even one Omega Titan capable of untold destruction, can Guy track them all from their point of origin so that the Corps can formulate a response? Worse still, some Thanagarian Shadowlord loyalists haven’t vacated the region yet - and they’re not happy! It’s dark wings versus bright rings!
Meanwhile, the United Planets learns that the G-Men may have awoken the ancient entity known as Pyra. President Arin Sur seeks to keep that information confidential… for now. Earth was recently responsible for a massive universal catastrophe (see HUMANITY FIRST), and another so soon could be devastating for the world’s intergalactic standing. Sur consults Earth’s representative, John Stewart - whom, against all odds, she has taken a special interest in. The G-Men are Stewart’s people, so it must be his call. Should there be a preemptive strike or should the U.P. take a more circumspect approach, trusting the earthlings to prove that humanity can mitigate its own dangerousness? Which will John choose?

Clark Kent returns to the Kent Farm to find Pa Kent infected by a mysterious disease.
There was no cure for the disease, as the disease seems to counter all anti-biotics.
Clark soon finds that half of Smallville are infected by this mysterious virus.
And the virus seems to be growing stronger by the minute under the yellow sun light?
This is when Superman realize that this virus may not come from planet Earth.
Taking Pa Kent to the Fortress of Solitude, Superman asks the A.I. version of Jor El, his biological father from Krypton to diagnose Pa Kent.
And Jor El confirms his worst suspicions, that this virus is indeed not from Earth, but from Krypton.
The Virus X of Krypton, was the last virus of Krypton before it went extinct.
As Kryptonians do not get sick.
Kryptonians heal all diseases and wounds with the power of Rondor, which are basically Kryptonian version of Unicorn.
Therefore, not even Jor El has a cure for the mysterious Virus X.
Just as yellow sun light powers Superman, the virus is also getting super powers.
Tick tock, the clock is ticking.
Superman must find a way to stop the Super Virus X before it becomes unstoppable.
And Superman begins to ask the question: how come the virus suddenly appear in Smallville?
Is there a secret connection to Superman's past as Superboy?

Assistance comes from a surprising source — Hans Leckter and the Extremists!
Damocles’ philosophy is as anathema to them as to the G-Men!
But where Hans proposes they kill Pyra to end Damocles’ tyranny, BASILISK won’t hear it!
