We present to you DC Next Dawn, a collection of all new fan-made issues on “sale” this month, OCTOBER/NOVEMBER 2023!

What is “DC Next Dawn” and how does it work?

Next Dawn, previously known as “New Dawn,” is a fan fiction universe and solicitation game that has been in existence on the CBR boards for approximately ten years! It has gone through several iterations and has survived forum reboots! The way it works is that “plotters” write short solicitations for monthly comic books! Then participants “buy” the books they want to read! The books with the most buys get rewards. Sounds fun, right? So let’s do this! Which of this month's solicits interest and excite you? Let us know by posting which books you'd pick up in the virtual Next Dawn Store (this solicitation thread). You can pull as many as you'd like, but also consider your "virtual budget" when making your selections, as sales are used to reward our titles and plotters. Registers are open all month and sales are tallied at the end of the month.

Absolutely anyone can make purchases right here in this thread - so please do!. It’s free and is basically just saying “I’d read this” or “I like this!” So let us know!

For the rest of them, Penelope is like family.
Champions, a veritable legion of super-humans from across the member systems of the United Planets, oppose them!
The odds are overwhelming — impossible, even.
Despite early successes, one by one, the G-Men fall in the face of the onslaught!
The FULL COPPER MAN folds! RUNAWAY is overrun! RAINMAKER is crushed. WINTER WONDERLAD is put on ice!
Even Pantha is pinned down.
It’s down to just Basilisk and Penelope Pink — and she knows how this ends.
She won’t let her friends, or her love, die for her! For a brief moment, her powers as PYRA reawaken, allowing her to save her family from death. But, she decides, it’s too late for her!
If she needs to die — and, she realizes, she does! — then let it be at her own hands!
Her defenses lowered, she triggers a weapon telekinetically, and with her lover’s name on her lips, Penelope Pink is incinerated!
Thus ends the saga of PYRA!

Sandman Superman and Metallo travels to the Fortress of Solitude.
Lex Luthor has been tracking Superman and finds out that this is Superman's secret base.
Sandman Superman is able to open the gate to the Fortress as he shares Superman's powers.
Metallo finds the new Kryptonite isotope, the Red Kryptonite.
Now he upgrades to Metallo 3.0, the man with three Kryptonite hearts.
But that's not the only thing they steal from the Fortress.
The Phantom Zone projector. But what is Lex planning to do with it?
Lois calls Clark to help her train Jimmy.
She tells Clark that Jimmy is in fact the new Kryptonite Man.
And she is going to train him to control that power.
But Clark suddenly hears the intruder alert from the Fortress of Solitude with his Superman hearing.
As Superman arrives at the Fortress of Solitude, he finds out that he's been robbed.
Superman faces off Sandman Superman!
He is suddenly blasted from behind by the Red-K radiation from Metallo.
With the effect to cause random mutation in Kryptonian. Gasp! Superman's face has been changed to a Lion!
Now how can Superman keep his secret identity a secret?

But Sinestro, leader of the U.P.-sanctioned Yellow Lantern Corps, will not tolerate any Atlantean interference in Pyra’s trial! This might not end well!

The Ziridian host, Sharca, long caught in a love triangle, has finally made her choice. She loves King Atlan II… and is carrying his child! THE CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE
The Han-Barc conglomerate has hired Nemesis to kill Bat-Wing and Deathblow to end their investigation into the death of Chinese spy Ken Yao. After David has found the information he needs in a Han-Barc lab, Deathblow tosses Nemesis out of a window 30 stories up so that they could escape! A human-trafficking network has been selling children as guinea pigs and soldiers to various companies and corporations around the world. One of those companies is OSIRUS, run by Lena Killian!
A separate investigation by Kia Okura and Rick Flagg has uncovered a connection between the missing children and a mysterious cult leader named Father Lost! He is the one supplying children to the Guild of Assassins and Han-Barc and one of those missing children is Kia's young niece! There is a compound in Singapore linked to Father lost so that is where they plan on heading!
Back in The Congo, Matu has been taking care of David's brother Isaac who seems to have suffered a mental breakdown. Isaac has no idea of who he is or of the several murders he committed as the hero-killer Massacre! Matu has prepared lunch for Isaac but when he enters his room, there is no sign of him! There is only a frightening message written on the wall, a message that makes Matu's blood run cold: "I Hunt Heroes!"

THE NIGHT PEOPLE
David's sister Madilyn has reached out to him concerned about her daughter Meran whom she believes has joined a dangerous cult. So he asks Ben to go with him to Colorado to look into her concerns. They arrive in the States and travel to a compound not far from Aurora that is heavily guarded. They approach the gates which suddenly open to reveal a well dressed couple. He is Doctor Moon and she is Sister Eve and they are the leaders of the Children of Nyx, Goddess of the Night. It is their mission to help young people to reach their full potential.
They welcome the strangers into their humble abode and ask how can they be of service. David tells them they are searching for a young girl who has been reported missing when he sees his young niece working in a field with others. He goes to approach her when he is stopped by Sister Eve who tells him that no outsider can approach the children. Ben looks around and all of the children appear to be in sort of a dazed state. And the guards all look to be ex-military or special forces. He asks himself, why does a place for helping children need so many guards? What is it exactly that Moon and Eve are doing?

•High above, an elated Captain Marvelous can see his foster parents' house from up here... and something's wrong. As they get close, the Captains and Hawkgirl enter an anti-magic field surrounding the house, and Kendra's wings barely last long enough to safely get teenaged Billy and shockingly sexagenarian MALIK WHITE to the ground!
•A trio in advanced armour and a cybernetic dog emerge from the house, identify themselves as the SUPER-POLICE of an alternate 2023, and confiscate the ePhone Billy left in his room! It's an old model, Billy thinks, why would they...?
•The Wizard MAMARAGAN installed the mystic Historama app on Billy's ePhone, letting the boy see distant locations, other dimensions, the past, present, and possible futures. Billy's only used it so far to ace a History test. These chrononauts claim they need it to prevent a great tragedy across space-time but the arcane lock on the ePhone is still active despite the dampening field.
•Will Billy's wisdom reveal the truth of the Sci-Cops' claim? Can Malik's intelligence interpret the temporal wave functions they're spouting off as proof? Or must Kendra remember that, even depowered, her mace is still a £v<#1И@ mace?

Now, Damocles is a vegetable… his mind shattered by Dark Pyra (UNCANNY G-MEN: THE DARK PYRA SAGA #2). Breakneck and Running Shoes find themselves alone and without a leader - yet again. (How did they discover that anyway? ). Arin Sur has lost serious credibility and support. The U.P. appears vulnerable…
And the Khunds are the first to take advantage of that vulnerability! With the destruction caused by Pyra, so soon after Vandal Savage’s genocidal campaign threatened the universe, the Khunds now have a self-defense justification to strike at Earth! The United Planets’ armada, including much of the Green Lantern Corps, is already parked in Earth’s orbit - conflict is inevitable! Can John Stewart vindicate himself by saving his home planet?

It won't let them die. The time machine demands a sacrifice. Only one of them is going back to 1935, and he'll never be quite human again.

My pulls:

FIRE FROM HEAVEN #4 (LGY: UNCANNY G-MEN #32) - Continuing to enjoy this series from last month, and glad I came in at a good starting point. I shed a tear at those last panels of Pyra!
ACTION COMICS #8 - Metallo 3.0? Sandman Superman? Jimmy Olsen, Kryptonite Man? Any one of these alone would be enough, but I love red kryptonite stories!
AQUAMAN #36 - This is a top-notch tie-in concept. And I like to see heroes matched up against villains outside their usual rogues galleries, so Aquaman v. Sinestro sounds good to me.
THE FLASH #51 - Loving "The World Without A Flash" storyline, and zombie swarm Black Racer is horrifying in the best way.
GREEN LANTERN #51 - Another solid tie-in, perfectly entwining the overarching story with the ongoing plot!
