We present to you DC Next Dawn, a collection of all new fan-made issues on “sale” this month, MARCH-APRIL 2024!

What is “DC Next Dawn” and how does it work?

Next Dawn, previously known as “New Dawn,” is a fan fiction universe and solicitation game that has been in existence on the CBR boards for approximately ten years! It has gone through several iterations and has survived forum reboots! The way it works is that “plotters” write short solicitations for monthly comic books! Then participants “buy” the books they want to read! The books with the most buys get rewards. Sounds fun, right? So let’s do this! Which of this month's solicits interest and excite you? Let us know by posting which books you'd pick up in the virtual Next Dawn Store (this solicitation thread). You can pull as many as you'd like, but also consider your "virtual budget" when making your selections, as sales are used to reward our titles and plotters. Registers are open all month and sales are tallied at the end of the month.

Absolutely anyone can make purchases right here in this thread - so please do!. It’s free and is basically just saying “I’d read this” or “I like this!” So let us know!

Doc Savage and Ian Fleming’s James Bond 007 in THE FORTUNES OF HELL, Conclusion
James Bond, Doc Savage, Pat Savage, Pussy Galore, Felix Leiter, and Renny Renwick prepare for an armed assault on Fu Manchu’s Tibetan stronghold. They leave from Doc’s Arctic Fortress of Solitude in early winter, the middle of the far north’s night. They will fly over the Soviet Union, part of Communist China and into Tibet, setting down near Fu’s castle four miles above sea level while avoiding radar and military defenses from multiple sources. With our heroes is Sir Denis Nayland Smith, having ingested the last of Fu Manchu’s Elixir of Life (remember Amazing Fantasy 49’s shock ending?). Smith intends to make this the final showdown.
Smith was correct about the meteorites. There is a radiation from them which has been affecting human tissue for the decades they’ve been on the planet. And that radiation is decaying and is expected to soon drop to insignificant levels. Monk Mayfair and Q have examined the Wold Cottage rock and realized the radiation could be weaponized. The mission is to get the meteorites back, get whatever research exists, and if failing, destroy everything.
Unknown to our heroes, Fu Manchu has already managed to isolate body modifying elements from the meteorites and has progressed in his plans.

As two outsiders who each came to rule vast and dangerous kingdoms, Aquaman and the Warlord form a fast friendship. Arthur knows that villains like Deimos can’t be left to regroup and strike back harder. He advises that they pursue Deimos’ horde and cut the head off the snake… permanently. The Warlord agrees! Onward, to victory!
But is this course of action exactly what the malevolent lord of chaos, Klarion the Witch Boy, was planning for all along?
Meanwhile, another denizen of the surface world arrives in Shamballah: Tatsu Yamashiro, better known as Katana. Shes got a problem: her legendary sword, the Soultaker, is missing - and she believes it is somewhere in Skartaris! Can Crablad help her find it?

Kia and an injured Rick Flagg make their way thru the dense jungles of Singapore, barely ahead of the men chasing them. They recently escaped the compound of the kingpin Father Lost, who secretly works for billionaire Lena Killian. Rick tells Kia to go on and leave him behind, he's just slowing her down. She tells him to shut up and keep moving, she is not about to lose another partner again! But Father Lost's killers are getting closer and they have so far to go. Suddenly one of the men gives a yell that he's spotted them and begins firing. Kia thinks, it's only a matter of time before they're either captured or killed and her mind begins to think of David. She hopes that he knows how much she loved him and that she wishes things could have been different. Suddenly, there is more gun fire and more yelling, but this time it sounds like the screams of pain. She looks as tears of relief and joy stream down her face! Father Lost's men are being brutally taken down while others try to flee! Bat-Wing has arrived! Next Issue: Father Lost!

Amanda Waller is director of CHECKMATE#’s (it’s NOT a hashtag; it’s a pound sign which is the symbol for mate in chess scorekeeping) Toronto office. Three of her top agents (Hawkgrrl, Atomica, and Carrie Kelley) have vanished and she is short of staffing. She has interviews lined up, but to test the abilities and mannerisms of these prospective agents, they have been requested to meet her at Skydome (always Skydome, dammit, get off my fake lawn) during the opening day game with the Gotham City Knights. The ability to make contact under unusual circumstances is an important skill for agents. Batman gets word of this and travels up to Toronto to see the Gotham City Knights start their season. Yes, he is curious about Waller’s plan.

The Flash’s mind is racing. After performing a forensic investigation, and meeting with his CIA contact King Faraday, he is left with one inescapable conclusion: Cheetah was killed by Barry’s own maternal grandfather, Mark Thompson! The pieces of a long simmering family mystery have fallen into place! This is what he’s put together….
Barry first learned that his grandfather was a speedster years ago. Thompson worked with Vandal Savage and was instrumental in the creation of Gorilla City in the 1970s, using the Speed Force to accelerate ape evolution (see THE FLASH #8). Thompson was a Cold Warrior known as “Arms Racer” and (foolishly) thought working with Savage’s “Light” could help America defeat the U.S.S.R. When Barry travelled back in time, he met Thompson in his prime - and helped fight the Soviet speedster, Red Streak (see THE FLASH #9). However, Thompson’s misguided alliance with Savage caused a falling out with his own daughter (Barry’s mother), Nora Allen-Thompson.
Nora was a genius biologist, developing a “cure” for the metagene as part of “Operation: Humble Pie” - with the goal of thwarting Savage’s plan to breed and recruit an army of metahumans that could take over everything (see the now classic event HUMANITY FIRST). So Savage ordered Cheetah to kill Nora and frame Barry’s father in the early 90s (see THE FLASH #5, 8). Once Mark found out about Savage’s real plan and Nora’s murder, he sought revenge… but Savage had “speedster kryptonite”: suspendium, and used it to defeat and capture Thompson. Savage imprisoned him in a massive hidden fortress in the Ozarks, where he remained for two decades…
Until the Deicide Squad infiltrated that fortress to steal the suspendium needed to kill the Black Racer (see THE FLASH #53). This allowed Thompson to finally escape! And with Savage dead, his first act was retribution against the woman who killed his daughter… He eliminated the (supposedly reformed) Cheetah! But what is the man now calling himself “PDQ” going to do next?

After some much-needed downtime on Earth, where he rekindled his relationship with Carol Ferris and became Mountain Dew’s official spokesman, the vacation is over for Green Lantern Corps Leader Hal Jordan. He finally returns to Oa. It seems, however, that there is no urgency. The universe is in a calm rebuilding phase after everything that happened with Pyra, the Omega Titans, and the Black Racer. It’s quiet… perhaps too quiet?
Case in point: there has been no contact with or sightings of the Dominators in months. As one of the United Planets’ most longstanding and consistent enemies, this is unusual. Typically they are very active… dominating things. Why the silence? What’s going on in Dominion Space that has them so occupied? Jessica Cruz is sent to investigate!
Unbeknownst to the universe at large, during the “Fire From Heaven” event, the Dominators captured the Omega Titan of Evolution. Given their cultural obsession with genetic enhancement, who knows what they’ve done with the knowledge extracted from such a being!

But the G-Men know, thanks to future intervention, that Dharma’s plan will create the very dark future the Extremists seek to avert.

In the fight, Leckter strikes down Runaway…
