We present to you DC Next Dawn, a collection of all new fan-made issues on “sale” this month, JANUARY-FEBRUARY 2024!

What is “DC Next Dawn” and how does it work?

Next Dawn, previously known as “New Dawn,” is a fan fiction universe and solicitation game that has been in existence on the CBR boards for approximately ten years! It has gone through several iterations and has survived forum reboots! The way it works is that “plotters” write short solicitations for monthly comic books! Then participants “buy” the books they want to read! The books with the most buys get rewards. Sounds fun, right? So let’s do this! Which of this month's solicits interest and excite you? Let us know by posting which books you'd pick up in the virtual Next Dawn Store (this solicitation thread). You can pull as many as you'd like, but also consider your "virtual budget" when making your selections, as sales are used to reward our titles and plotters. Registers are open all month and sales are tallied at the end of the month.

Absolutely anyone can make purchases right here in this thread - so please do!. It’s free and is basically just saying “I’d read this” or “I like this!” So let us know!

Defeat!
Despite rallying Aquaman and Atlantis to his cause, Arion is beaten… and Kismet has won the Civil War of Order! Fellow Lord of Order Nabu took Kismet’s side and tipped the proverbial tides to her favor, despite the fact that Nabu’s avatar Dr. Fate (or, more specifically, Fate’s host Kent Nelson) sided with Arion!
Now: the punishment due.
Arion is stripped of his status as a Lord of Order - returned to the level of a mere mortal wizard.
Aquaman, however, must pay a heftier price. He dared to attack Kismet directly, scarring her face whilst dual-wielding two legendary weapons: the Trident of Poseidon and the Sword of Cetus. He must never be able to replicate that heretical crime. As such, Kismet… severs his left hand!
Kent Nelson is rejected as a host, with the Helm of Fate being placed upon the head of the unwilling hydromancer Mera. Nabu now possesses her - and he won’t make the same mistake with this new Dr. Fate that he did with Nelson: Mera shall have no free will!
And the final judgment: all those most responsible for betraying Order (Arion, Aquaman, Crablad, and Nelson) will be banished to a world of chaos and primal savagery. A world of sword and sorcery. The world… of Warlord!

Singapore:Kia has just rescued her niece along with a group of kids from a trafficking ring but has it cost her another partner? Rick Flagg was captured by Kilroy and Kimodo, allowing Kia to get the others to safety. She can't handle the thought of losing another partner, so after arranging for the children to be safely transported to The Congo, she heads back to the jungle compound of Father Lost. Kia is going back to save Rick Flagg and heaven help anyone who gets in her way!
Back in Tinisha, David is having a major internal conflict. Lena Killian has been behind nearly every criminal enterprise in the Congo and beyond! Now she maybe involved in human trafficking. But as the head of Oracle Inc., she is a very powerful woman with powerful friends in business and in government. Even if her were to bring charges against her, they likely wouldn't stick. She'll have everyone in her pocket. So instead, David is wondering if her should become judge, jury and executioner and put an end to her once and for all? As he checks his gun and heads to her penthouse apartment, he will find out in a few minutes!

•Fawcett City's rebuilding effort after a TECHNO-ZOMBIE invasion and near dimensional collapse is nothing short of superhuman. Of course, the construction workers have help from CAPTAIN MARVELOUS, CAPTAIN THUNDER, and HAWKGIRL. Billy especially is working almost around the clock, keeping busy rather than think about his dead foster parents, killed during the raid on their home to find his magic ePhone.
•REX COSMOS, SANDRA McLANE, and DON DRAKE of the 2023 SUPER-POLICE vanished when the chrono-gynoids did, erased as space-time repaired itself. Were there new versions of them walking in and saving evernity? EXO the WONDER DOG remained for some yet unknown reason, and follows Billy around despite Billy's loud protests that he doesn't like dogs.
•Reconstruction may be ongoing but so is looting, and a series of increasingly violent attacks on looters escalates to increasingly violent attacks on possible looters. To get the metal mutt off his tail, Billy tasks Exo with solving the beaten looter mystery. Like any Class X-K9 good boy, Exo's suite of sensors and deductive algorithms soon leads him to a flying man in garish red and purple.
•BIZUR-EN-ARRH doesn't remember where he came from but he knows his mission is to stop crime, and he won't let anyone (much less something ferrous and flea-bitten) foil his mission! Can Exo arrest a superman or will crime take a bite out of him?

Batman wakes up after some sort of attack. He’s trying to remember what happened but first needs to deal with other important questions such as “Who am I?” and “Where am I?”. Totally amnesiac, he struggles to regain both his physical and mental faculties. His only help is a string of spirits, most of whom take the form of a young boy in a red vest and yellow cape calling himself Robin.
Somehow these visions are very important to him and if he is to survive, he must solve this problem that his psyche is screaming for an answer about. But are all of these visions out to help him, or could one of them be behind the entire plot?

In the massive cosmic fight, Green Lantern Wally West and Black Lantern John Stewart have pushed through the fray to come face-to-face with the Black Racer himself! Possessing the body of their close friend, Barry Allen, the nightmare of a New God envisions intergalactic death at hyper speed... unless they can stop him! It’s go time as the “Race Against Death” concludes here with this epic final battle!
But as Stewart uses his Black Lantern energy to pull the Racer away from his unwilling host, Barry Allen, the malevolent New God quickly finds a willing host to replace him: Eobard Thawne - the Reverse Flash! And Thawne is more than happy to cleanse the galaxy of existing life in preparation for a grand Rebirth!
The only positive to this development is that, with the Racer separated from Allen and attached to a supervillain, it’s no longer an ethical dilemma for the Deicide Squad to kill him! Peacemaker loads up his favorite pistol with special bullets - bullets laced with the Suspendium and Radion that the Squad recovered from Vandal Savage’s mansion. But he’s got to hit a moving target… and an impossibly fast one at that! Maybe if he uses those Cosmic Skis that the Racer abandoned?

“TARZAN THE COLD”
Like his father, John "Jack" Clayton III was a wild man with a thirst for adventure, better known by his ape name “Korak." In the early 1930s, Korak sought to be the first person to climb the world’s tallest mountain: Everest. But he never returned…. which led his wife, Meriem, to ask her father-in-law for help! Tarzan, accustomed to the heat of the African jungles, must now lead an expedition into the frigid, snowy peaks of the Himalayas to rescue his son! But the cold is the least of his concerns…
The pro-British rulers of Nepal, the Ranas, initially agree to help the esteemed “Lord Greystoke.” Their representative, Jagat Shumsher Kunwar, insists that Korak’s disappearance is the work of the Nang Chos: a secretive sect of Buddhist monks said to consort with savage man-beasts known as “Yeti.”
But as they ascend the snowcapped peaks, Tarzan discovers a massive, city-sized hidden monastery… and, within, a Yeti civil war! The Nang Chos monks are indeed companions to the Michê - a Yeti clan that is human enough to follow Dharma. They fight against the Migoi - a wild Yeti clan, cast out of the monastery, with an aggressive new leader! Jagat, upon discovering this secret war, wants to subjugate both sides of the conflict!
The Lord of the Jungle thus finds himself in an unfamiliar and freezing world that abounds in mayhem! Whose side is he on? His ability to converse with the Yeti, who speak the universal tongue of apes, may help him decide!
Oh, and that new leader of the Migoi… it’s Korak! How did that come to be?
